Just saw another charity say they help & #39;the neediest& #39; people. I have had support from charities before, as have family members. I find this kind of language very disrespectful & stigmatising. Same goes for & #39;most vulnerable& #39;. 1/
Would you go up to someone your charity supports and say & #39;you are a vulnerable and needy person& #39;? I would hope not. If you wouldn& #39;t say it to the people you exist for, don& #39;t say to other stakeholders or put it on your website. 2/
Much better to say that you support people who are experiencing really difficult situations. Because it& #39;s the truth and it focuses decisions makers on what needs to change - the situation not the person. 3/
