waking up to hear of the attack on palestinians praying at masjid e aqsa is agonising. there is nothing decent or humane about firing bullets and launching grenades at people worshipping.

but this has happened before and it’ll happen again. muslims know that. a nobel peach prize winner allows a genicide against rohingya muslims and no one says or does anything to protect them. they flee to pandemic-ridden india. the nationalist party deports them back to myanmar.

disease or genocide: that’s what they have to choose between. or dying of exhaustion or starvation along the way. it is allowed to happen. the world doesn’t value them, and it certainly doesn’t fight for them.

china is putting uighur muslims in actual concentration camps. 400 camps in one province; more than three million detainees. uighurs are raped. they’re tortured. they’re used as slaves in factories. but the world watches.

india has built similar concentration camps, capable of housing two million people (and inhabited overwhelmingly by muslims). mr modi’s government is allowing hindu nationalists to sexually assault and kill muslims in unimaginable ways. but he is feted as a world leader.

we know our worth. we know that when people come for us those in power will not care. muslims are expendable; we don’t even have a right to our own lands. and if we speak of it we’re accused of being radicalised. so we have to watch our people were being systemically oppressed.

those in power can remove our rights to live as free and equal citizens but we’re not allowed to speak up. some people feel oppressed because their national flag doesn’t fly atop public buildings, but we can be literally burnt alive by a mob and we’re expected to remain silent.

they hypocrisy of it all is disgusting.
