Just finished listening to this Episode 1 by @NiftyWhaleNFT on how to build a personal brand as an NFT creator. 🤯

Tons of learnings and insights as well as examples of successful artists to look at / emulate are @gdrtweets @cryptopom1

1/x
🔨 Building a personal brand is telling your story 📚

- Collectors who are interested in your artwork, BUY INTO your story.
- Being authentic is important especially to these collectors

2/x
🔼📱 Leverage social media

- Unfortunately, being discovered as a new NFT artist is very very difficult
- NFT marketplaces search functionalities are horrible
- Thus the best way to get discovered is via social media (Examples: Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Clubhouse, etc

3/x
🤔 What if you don't like a specific platform that's very popular?

- That's ok, there are different mediums to promote your artwork so explore and find that appeals to you (YouTube, etc) 👍

4/x
👩‍🎨 Artist vs Personal Brand 👨‍💼

- To be successful in the NFT space, there's a lot of work that goes outside of just creating artworks
- Act as an artist and as a business owner
- At the end of the day, it's a business

5/x
🖼👀 How to cut thru noise and get work in front of the right eyes?

- ❌NO Shill threads❌ (Even we were a victim to this)
- Engaging with people on Twitter (Ask questions, start discussions, etc)
- Perfect example: @gdrtweets

6/x
💭Collectors impression of Artists

- Collectors can instantly get a feel of the artist's personality, their interests, art style, and topics that they are exploring via their feed
- If they can't get a read, artist is doing something wrong (Lack of personal branding) 👎

7/x
🧠Collectors want to have a deeper understanding of:

- An artist's goal 🏆
- An artist's journey 🛣
- If they want to support the artist in the future ⏳

8/x
👇 A great example of the 7/x and 8/x: @cryptopom1

- Responds to < 500 follower accounts (engaged)
- Feed about self-care
- Personal branding (Building artists up in the community & supporting each other)
- Artwork themes (Woman in the NFT space - Constantly criticized)

9/x
🤔 @NiftyWhaleNFT impression of @cryptopom1

- The work that she's doing is great and what she stands for (her values, topics she's exploring) are also clear
- Gives confidence that she's authentic and will be an integral part of the NFT community

10/x
🔭 Discovery & Following 🌐

- Community will bubble up for artists that they support
- Word of mouth 👄
- Focus on your personality, who you are, what you care for & broadcast that on multiple platforms
- Better ROI than on shill threads and DMing collectors

11/x
📖 How important are personal stories?

- V E R Y 💡
- People like interacting with other humans and not just an account that shares art the whole time
- People care behind the people behind the artwork

12/x
🤝 Connecting with collectors in a genuine way

- Worry about being authentic to the world
- Collectors look for whatever information they can find about you
-👇 Less emphasis on reaching out to a collector
-👍More emphasis on what information is widely available

13/x
🧔🤝👩‍🎨 Reaching out to collectors

🚫 "Hey check this"

1️⃣Give context. How u know them, why u're reaching out.

2️⃣What r u doing. What's ur story. What does ur work mean to you. Let the art speak for itself.

3️⃣Offer something that will help build a relationship long term.

14/x
🙊Feel you can express yourself better when there's no pressure to speak perfectly OR Not a native english speaker?

- Visual medium 🎥
- TikTok video showing process of creating NFT + sound track + hashtags = 🔥
- One follower did this and was getting 1k views minimum

15/x
All in all, a great video. Would definitely be looking to join the Discord and immerse myself into the Clubhouse space. I hope this summary thread helps newcomers into the NFT space because it most certainly helped us.

As always, thank you @NiftyWhaleNFT 🙏
