Hardest parts about getting people to accept that they may have been scammed is the shame attached to the experience.
I've said this before but it is worth noting.
Anyone can get conned. We're all looking for quick cash outs and the allure of making 27k overnight is huge. https://twitter.com/lukeyism/status/1390871384688103429
That said, once you realize that you're essentially in a bathtub with a hole in the bottom you're either going to have been lucky enough to cash out at a decent moment or you're going to be unlucky enough to have lost a lot. Both will have degrees of shame attached.
So many people have been in MLMs or been scammed before but rarely talk about it because we all think we're smarter than that. And add to that the predatory charismatic and popular leaders who use things like toxic positivity and hustle culture to pressure you and you get hooked
It's easier to attach this kinda shame to people in Lynroy's flock for example because it's not like a monetary investment. However the dynamics of Pyramid schemes are quite similar to religious cults. Again, anyone can get conned.
My advice is to get advice from professional finance advisers or attorneys before joining anything that requires anything above $100.
