Starmer is tied to the legacy of Blair. In style, he attempts to mimic him, doesn't do a very good job, and comes off as a bad throwback to an early 90s politics that now feels wholly inauthentic and just seems pretty irrelevant today. It clearly isn't washing with the electorate
But Corbyn fans in Labour, he was toxic with normal people, and his past was a mess. Most of his policies were quite popular, but as a leader and he the man, he wasn't and never would be electable with the public. I suspect no figure from the party left would work much better.
I honestly do not see a figure emerging in Labour who can do any better. A new political party is needed. I think the damage done by Labour being almost in its entirety a remain party will not disappear quickly, even as some of the negatives from Brexit become more apparent.
What is more is that the identitarian left and the supposed social justice progressives (a lot of what is spouted by them isn't progressive at all, it's divisive and annoys people) will never win a majority. All it will do is allow people to reaffirm their existing negative views
You deserve the Tory's you thick, sexist, racist people, you voted against your own interests because you are thick, nasty, selfish, racist people....and so it goes on. Utterly unreflective, totally useless. Politics as nothing more than an opportunity for a self moral elevation.
