I can not honestly believe that there is an “ethical” way to own human bones unless it’s a person you know who GAVE YOU their bones.
Like- I once reached out to this guy on Instagram who was selling them and said they were all ethically sourced and his only explanation was they’re all “medical.”
Which... to me was like.... so someone donated their body and now you have their bones???? You?? You just have them now???
The exact message was that none of them were grave robbed and they’re all medical. How do you know??? What’s the paperwork??? IM- AS SOMEONE WHO COLLECTS ANIMAL BONES I AM DEEPLY TROUBLED BY THIS
And trust me this is not me judging anyone for having a “morbid” hobby or anything, I happen to own my fare share of specimens and bones it’s just like... ethical??? How do you make sure it’s ethical?? When they’re.. when it’s humans...??
Especially with the side note of them all being medical... like when you donate your body to certain medical facilities are they gonna sell your bones??? Because that sounds like a way for someone to get sued... maybe it’s in the fine print???
I am more puzzled by this than morally outraged. Like... I wanna trust the Instagram bone man... but I genuinely don’t understand the paperwork...
