This has been on my mind for weeks.
A thread about the pattern I've noticed about supernatural: none of the seasons had a happy ending. We were NEVER going to have a good ending.
-Season 1: The brothers found their father, but then he died.
-Season 2: Dean saves Sam, but sells his soul in the process.
-Season 3: Dean died and went to Hell.
-Season 4: Sam and Dean are unable to stop Lucifer from rising.
-Season 5: Sam goes to Hell in order to stop Lucifer.
-Season 6: Sam's wall breaks, Cas dies and releases the Leviathan
-Season 7: The Leviathan are stopped, but Dean and Cas go to purgatory.
-Season 8: Sam doesn't finish the trials, and the angels fall.
-Season 9: Dean dies and becomes a Demon.
-Season 10: the darkness is released.
Season 11: Mary comes back
Season 12: Lucifer kills Cas, Mary gets stuck in apocalypse world
Season 13: Lucifer dies, but Michael possesses Dean.
Season 14: Chuck kills Jack and starts the Apocalypse
Season 15: Cas dies and is barely mentioned. Dean (who has dealt with depression, self-worth issues and suicidal tendencies in the past) dies pointlessly during a hunt and asks Sam not to save him. Sam is left alive with an apple pie life that he said he no longer wanted. +
We were never going to get a good ending. The writers were never going to break the cycle. The Winchesters never broke their cycles. They stood no chance for a happy ending. Dean and Cas never got to live in the world that they set free. Sam had to live a life he didn't want.
