I have been listening to many on Spaces, most of whom are ardent BJP supporters. They vote for Narendra Modi and won't support anyone else.
Most of them agree on few shortcomings of the BJP.
I am putting it out here.
This is honest feedback from ardent supporters.

Thread begins
Failure to manage news media.

Most other parties have figured out how to make the media speak in their favour. They have cultivated a coterie of journalists and a news ecosystem.
BJP failed to do so.
Hence when negative news starts circulating, the party is often a sitting duck.
Related feedback: Fumbling spokespersons.
There are many BJP spokies who don't even know how to make a cogent argument in front of the TV camera. Some can't even speak properly. Yet, they are allowed to go on TV channels to face suave, well-spoken reps of other political parties.
Bad political leaders with no sense of public perception.
There are many BJP leaders who still hobnob with star journalists who abuse Modi everyday.
They click selfies with Bollywood stars who abuse BJP.
Some of them are even appointed brand ambassadors of government initiatives.
Too much dependence on Brand Narendra Modi. The beleif that Modiji will always save the day.
BJP is overusing Brand Narendra Modi. True, it's Modi who has brought BJP where it is today but beyond Modi, there seems to be a void.
Also the BJP is doing nothing to preserve the brand.
Abandoning Hindutva for Soft Hindutva.
There's no denying the fact that BJP's core voters are Hindus. They are traditional, Sanatani Hindus.
But BJP has taken Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas so seriously that their core votebank is now asking, "what are you doing to preserve our rights?"
Losing touch with the organisations that helped create BJP.
RSS, Bajrang Dal etc have helped BJP reach the pinnacle of political power.
BJP is slowly losing touch with them.
In few cases, BJP is in an opposite trajectory.
The party should preserve and promote these organisations
In straining ties with RSS, Bajrang Dal and Hindu groups, BJP is losing their hold on ground.
BJP has always benefited by the work of the volunteers of these Hindu organisations. They support BJP because they think BJP is a political expression of their organisation.
Is it still?
If you look at the reality then many brownie points don't belong to BJP at all.
Was the demand of Ram Mandir a BJP initiative?
Did removal of Article 370 first appear in a BJP manifesto?
People who fought for these for decades never sought credit.
They were happy that BJP got it.
Today many Hindu organisations work separately and don't even claim that BJP is their political outfit. Ask senior RSS leader and listen to what they have to say about BJP.
BJP is losing the umbilical chords that nurtured it before its birth and raised the party through hardship.
Oh I forgot!
A major feedback is about few ministers who suck at their job. We all know who they are.
They like posting inane tweets about what they have done "under the leadership of Narendra Modi".
They are too quick to take credit for anything but leave the brickbats for Modi.
There is major feedback about BJP's weak response to Bengal violence. It's too much out there, I don't need to elaborate on it.
But the many are startled with the reaction of BJP social media volunteers to the criticism.
They are asking everybody to stop criticising Narendra Modi
They say: Have patience.
But how does one keep patience when you see deadbodies?
There are several kinds of political responses: Immediate, Delayed, Strategic etc.
Truth: There has been no immediate response from the BJP.
They opted for Gandhian optics like Kadi Ninda and Dharna.
Many on Spaces came just to say that they want to give feedback.
They want the party to listen. Many have written mails to BJP email IDs.
But there's no feedback mechanism for a party which has been there in power for 7 years with brute majority.
It's just top down communication.
Gandhi said, You will never be able to separate religion with politics in India (not verbatim).
In India, religious gatherings are spaces for political deliberations. But not for a Hindu.
Hindu gatherings are frowned upon. Not to speak of the negative media campaign that follows.
Many opine that BJP is trying to become a secular party.
It wants to adopt a centrist stance. They want to go for Soft Hindutva for better international media coverage.
The secular approach of BJP has not only pained people, many are enraged.
They are asking: Yeh ho kya raha hai?
The need for global validation is catching eyes.
They say that a party sitting in Parliament with brute majority is complaining and whining on social media.
This only shows how the BJP has become a party that has forgotten to assert itself.
It is a huge weakness and it's showing.
The studied silence from BJP top brass, when cadres are crying for help, has saddened many.
Bengal isn't the first time.
People are asking: Are the cries reaching them?
There is no way to know.
But BJP social media volunteers say: Wait, there will be a masterstroke.
Really?
When?
Last but not the least: The reaction to honest criticism is appalling.
When an organisation stops listening to feedback, it ceases to exist. Those who love you, will criticise you the most.
People criticising BJP or Modi aren't betraying.
They are saying things because they care.
Thanks for reading.
Hope I have been able to compile all the feedback. If I have missed out on anything, do put it in a comment.
I thought such good feedback should not get lost and somebody should word it down.
Hope this is taken in the right spirit by BJP leaders.
