I have some thoughts today - as a white person - as a disabled person - as someone who is often discriminated against in lots of ways:

People have things going on. Some people are able to learn and understand and empathize. Some just cannot right now, for whatever reason. /1
I would say that as individuals, we can do our best to speak up to people in our circles and be both unwavering and passionate about our viewpoints.

We also need to know that we can& #39;t change everyone right now, and maybe never. But people CAN change. I have to believe that. /2
I have changed. When I look back at who I was ten years ago - much less twenty years ago. I have changed SO much.

That& #39;s what matters to me. That I did it and I can trust that when people have the mental/emotional/non-pandemic impacted space to do so, they will too. /3
Sure. There are people who never will. But we need to recognize that we have done what we can - and we also need to recognize that protecting our own space and peace is imperative.

For me, for example, some people will never caption their videos/stories/ect. Right?/4
I need to get to a point where I recognize that and stop trying to push and just walk away. Maybe I leave the door ajar for if they ever want to talk again, if they matter that much to me, BUT I protect myself and my peace too.

That& #39;s the thing. Because there& #39;s only so much. /5
(also, I personally operate on scorched earth policy because all Aires. I& #39;m trying to be better about that.)

I believe there is hope, I have faith in many things, and I love my people... so I try. But there& #39;s only so much I can take. /6
