the closer something new is to a well mapped mental model, the faster the comprehension.
this comes w/ upsides (speed) & downsides (biases).

understanding existing mental models can help accelerate daos.
two broad groups:
a) aspirational
b) pragmatic
aspirationals â vision driven, dogmatic (to an extent), little compromise.
pragmatics â results driven, flexible, conservative, risk adverse, limited creativity.

we need both, but they can't exist within the same product. need to think about it like a control group & experimental group.
given green fields, both are likely to succeed against certain verticals.
can't conflate success in a vertical with success as a whole.
