the astrological second house ✴︎

✴︎ the second house in astrology contains the themes of all things that we value and the things that we find worthy. finances, possessions, and self worth.
the 2H is mainly associated with money, but there’s much more to it than that.

the sign + planets over your 2H can also show your approach to 2H themes. where these planets reside in your chart matter even more.

for example, the sign ruling over my 2H is in the sign of aries. i tend to spend money impulsively without thinking of it. the satisfaction i get from buying something only lasts for a short while.

the ruling planet of aries (mars) falls in my 7H. i have no problem with spending large amounts money on other people, but i may have a hard time doing that for myself.

the second house can also represent your voice and the way that you speak + sing. this is because the second house is ruled by taurus (the throat) of course your mercury placement is also important!

i think it’s okay if i argued that mercury is just more of *how* you communicate, rather than how you sound when doing it.

in terms of self worth, let’s talk about my chart again. in the sign of aries and mars residing in the 7H. i tend to place my self worth in the hands of others. with mars opposing my ascendant, a person’s opinion of me can do a lot for my self esteem.

there are then times where i feel i DON’T need the opinions of other people, and i feel like i’m on top of the world. that is mars for you.

*a bag chaser can also very much be someone with 6H or 10H placements. even 8H lol it’d just be money that isn’t theirs. sounds like me lowkey!*

people with 2H placements can have this drive to have wealth, or be very meticulous about their money. a 2H venus person can be attracted to someone with money, yes. but they can also be attracted to someone with strong values and feelings of worth.

2H people can take pride in the things that they own, and they may even put their entire personalities into material things. or not feeling worthy if they don’t have much. this can apply to self esteem as well.

2H placements can also be helpful for YOU! when you need to weigh the pros and cons of something (if it’s worth it) ask a 2H friend! or a taurus
