A little screed that will take a while, so bear with me. Replying to @GovGianforte and his dipshit compatriot in South Carolina. I grew up in a logging town in Montana. Blue collar family, mom & dad both worked. We grew a lot of our own food.
College was not in the cards for me, as school was really not my thing. I loved to work with my hands and knew I was going to work for a living all my life, and I have. I& #39;ve worked labor intensive jobs for almost 40 years. Never earning much money.
When we were first married, we lived paycheck to paycheck for a long time. Seemed every raise I got was eaten up by rising gas, insurance and rent. Many times we had to choose which bills didn& #39;t get paid. We always had food and gas, but sometimes no power.
I finally got a good union job with benefits and good pay, but it took a long time to dig out of the hole substandard wages had put us in. A long time.
My point is this, @GovGianforte cancelling the extra unemployment benefits is not going to work the way you think.

You want people to go back to work? Raise the fucking minimum wage here to $12/hr, to go up to$15/hr in 3 years. How about spending the stimulus money to subsidize childcare? How about working for low income Montanans? But, you won& #39;t, and the workers will leave.
You& #39;ve torpedoed low income housing laws in our 2 main resort towns. Who& #39;s going to wait on the tourists?
Business owners, pay your goddamn people. Maybe cut your profit margin just a bit. Maybe charge the well off tourists for the privilege of ruining the Last Best Place.
