Yesterday we talked about my chance meeting with Musa Martins...

Today we'll examine the most important skill every entrepreneur must have.... Can you take a guess on what that is???

It's not coding or public speaking or Copywriting, nor is it digital marketing.
The single most important skill you as a person, entrepreneur or not must learn is the art of selling.

You must learn how to sell. You must learn how to sell yourself, your idea, your product and everything in between.
Forget what they tell you that in "Network Marketing we don't sell, we share."

That's true to some degree, but let's examine what selling really is.
In it's simplest form, selling is convincing the other party on the worthiness of a thing so much that they invest their resources into it.

When you as a Network Marketer make presentations, and convince people to sign up, you my friend have sold to them.
As an entrepreneur, you must learn how to sell yourself. I learnt that early on; And this is the part where you dress for success.

I'll examine extensively this issue at a later date, but suffice to say that you can't expect to be seen as a CEO when you're dressed as a tout.
You must learn how to sell yourself, to make people believe that you're capable of carrying out that which you plan to.

The first thing an Investor looks at when pitched to is the Founder, and his team.
Do this, and no matter how sordid your idea is, provided it has some reasonable traction they'll back you.
Next you must learn to sell your idea.

You must learn to pitch yourself.

Even the most nerdish of people can learn this...
Take a look at Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk.

They're Nerds through and through, but they've built global brands because of their ability to sell their ideas to the right people.
Pitching is an invaluable skill.

I'll also cover this subject on a later day, but suffice to say that without the ability to pitch your idea, yours will be just another idea wasted on the graveyard.
Do note that you're not just selling yourself and your idea to Investors, but also to potential customers and team members.

Starting out Loxeria, I had two meetings.

The first had four persons on the Zoom call, but I wasn't able to sell the dream to them properly.
I learnt my lesson, so when pitching it to the second group of people, I made sure I sold them on the dream, so that they would all jump in.

I'd previously learned the art of selling the dream as a Network Marketer, so this came easy. I just had to bring back that inner me.
Finally, you must learn to sell your product. You must learn the art of Marketing and Branding.

These two subjects will be covered as well in later threads.
So there you have it.

1. You must learn to sell yourself

2. You must learn to sell your idea.

3. You must learn to sell your product.
For the next 28 days, I'll be sharing what it's like being a young entrepreneur trying to navigate the murky waters of the business world.

I'll be sharing my stories successes failures, regrets, lessons and what not.
