If people are told their area is low, they might back off on masks etc or people from neighbouring areas might go to the area specified as low and spread the disease. The delay between infections and symptoms also makes those numbers less useful 2)
People may have already been infected in an area and not yet tested positive. If you tell that area they are low, they won't take precautions and will have an outbreak a week or two later. 3)
It's easy to make a logical jump and think more information is better, but it isn't necessarily true. Is this why BC's numbers are better than many areas? It could be part of the reason. I certainly don't think now is the time to experiment. I'd rather not end up like Ontario. 4)
