You're not breathing correctly.

Here's what you should do.

-Thread-
Breathing is one of the most overlooked activities in our lives.

Proper breathing can provide a myriad of health benefits, while improper breathing leads to a multitude of issues.
The first rule of breathing:

NEVER inhale from your mouth.

Our nose contains properties meant for filtering air before it enters our lungs.

Use it.
Mouth breathing is especially dangerous for children.

Symptoms include
- crooked teeth
- facial deformities
- bad breath
- gum disease
- dry breath/lips

and more
A form of breathing you should practice is diaphragm breathing.

As you inhale with your diaphragm, it contracts and moves downward, creating more space for the lungs to fill with air.

As you exhale, your diaphragm relaxes and moves upward, helping move air out of the lungs.
To do this, expand your abs as you inhale while keeping the movement from your chest to a minimum.

You'll feel movement from your stomach rather than your chest.

You can exhale through the nose or mouth.
Benefits include
- strengthening your diaphragm
- deeper/fuller breathes
- slowing your breathing rate
- lowering heart rate and blood pressure
- reducing stress

and more
A good way to practice is to diaphragm breathe while doing pushups.

Get into a pushup position, take a big breath, and do 2-3 reps.

Get back into position, exhale through the mouth, and repeat.

Practice this daily.

Your end goal is to diaphragm breathe as much as possible.
