Last night was the friends and family soft opening at La Belle Helene. 100% comped dinner.

We had a guy crash the party, meet friends, order the beef bourguignon, eat half and send it back as it was “bland and inedible” (it wasn’t)
He then demanded a new meal.
Did not tip
2/ another guest, also not invited, came in, demanded a table, threatened to bash us on social media if he/she was not immediately seated, and then demanded we turn the music down (we didn’t). Also did not tip
3/ this was a free party, filled with good will and optimism. And even there, entitlement showed up.

Wanna fix the restaurant business, behavior like this cannot be ignored.
4/ these interlopers became the talk of the night amongst my staff and management because the behavior was so unacceptable.
Instead of celebrating we were commiserating.
Had it not been such a special evening I would have thrown both these people out.
5/ ask yourself honestly. Is this ok? It’s a free party you aren’t invited to and you are complaining. Excessively.

Nonsense makes my skin crawl. Dealing with this shit is on my list. Soon.
6/ I don’t want to pick a fight with my guests. But I refuse to allow these people to disrespect my team like this any further. Most ppl wouldn’t dream of behaving this way in any other work place.
If it’s not ok there, it’s not ok in a restaurant either.
