16. I think, if Lena were to articulate something she likes about R'nara herself, she'd say she likes her "fire" - the fire that fuels her bravery and bravado, fierce protectiveness, and stubborn honesty, even when (perhaps especially when) the odds are stacked against her.

17. In turn, if R'nara were to say something she likes about Lena, she'd say she likes her heart.

"The fool's got room in it for every soul in Eorzea, and even still... Still, she has enough room to hold me entirely, and to love me so completely. I don't know how she does it."

18. Short answer: R'nara did, by a matter of a couple of seconds - they were both waiting a very long time for the opportunity to confess to each other!

19. They've known each other since childhood- although, they were separated for many years, as Lena and her mother smuggled themselves across Baelsar's Wall to Gridania to escape the Garlean occupation of Ala Mhigo.

20. Lena and R'nara's biggest in-universe supporter is Koda! He had to carry the secret that they both loved each other for a long while, but hyped both of them up to confess, and is happy to see them together!

21. I don't think there are any rivals for the ship, in the sense that there might be other that Lena or R'nara could have been shipped with (because I haven't written anything like that in LOL)

22. Lena became fast friends with R'nara's (as of yet unwritten) remaining friends and allies in the Ala Mhigan Resistance - some old friends from their childhood, and others new comrades that R'nara had found in their time apart. - - -

- - - R'nara, in kind, was a bit slower in ingratiating herself to Lena's friends in the FC and the Scions. But she's made good friends with Koda, as well as Krile during her help with on R'nara's flawed synthetic Echo, and looks like she'll get along swimmingly with Alisae.

23. Since they've known each other since they were children, so they have met each other's families! Unfortunately, both of their parents had passed by the time they were reunited.

24. The most significant conflict they had was, actually, when they finally reunited after years of being apart.
Lena had just returned to Ala Mhigo along with the Eorzean Alliance, and was searching for R'nara's whereabouts while going about her duties in the Fringes - - -

- - - She found her, after Zenos and the Skulls's attack on Rhalgr's Reach. Many of R'nara's friends and allies in the Resistance were killed, and R'nara, in her grief, was livid that none of Eorzea's vaunted "Warriors of Light" had saved the day. - - -

- - - Then, she found that one of those WoLs was, in fact, her childhood friend Lena. Although she had gained newfound powers, she hadn't come home earlier, during all of the struggle that the Ala Mhigans had faced at home, and she didn't save them now - - -

---R'nara let out all of the years of sadness and anger onto Lena. What could have been a bittersweet reunion became a painful fight, and Lena blamed herself completely for it, and secluded herself instead of trying to mend the bridge, too saddened by the conflict.

25. They way they resolved the conflict was, simply, through communicating, and a slow rebuild of their trust. Lena apologized first, for all that she had missed, the good and the bad- And, that she couldn't (or didn't) do more to help the Resistance, before or now. - - -

- - - R'nara apologized too - she knew that it wasn't entirely Lena's decision whether she could come back to help Ala Mhigo, and that it was unfair to take her suffering out on Lena. Afterwards, they lived and fought alongside one another, and rebuilt their relationship!

26. One location that's important to them is the Lochs - in particular, the salty lakes there! R'nara and Lena spent many a summer day floating in Loch Seld, and it is a small joyful memory that they both still cherish!

27. One object that is important to each of them, are the necklaces they made for each other as kids - it reminded them of each other in the time they were apart, and although the original neck band weathered apart years ago, each of them kept the pendants with them in some way.

28. One food that's important to them is Shakshuka! It was a relatively common meal for them, and so it became a staple of the meals they shared together, so, the flavor reminds them of each other!!

29. In their free time together, they take a lot of joy in physical activity! Sparring, sports, and in particular hiking! R'nara has a penchant for picking the gnarliest, longest trails to ascend, and Lena is happy to follow wherever she leads

30. In their free time apart, Lena tends to spend time recharging mentally/emotionally - taking time to her self, going on walks, and doing the little things. For R'nara, she spends a lot of time working out! She's worked so hard at it that she feels uncomfy if it's been too long

31/32. Gifts! They share a gift-giving tendency of like... quality time/acts of service- "I've handled all of your responsibilities for the day, and already set everything up - so you just relax, and I'll be right back with some food" type shit!! That's the good stuff baybee! ---

- - - Aside from that, though, I think Lena is the type of person to make a small, handmade gift for R'nara! A trinket to wear, typically, as she knows R'nara hates clutter. R'nara, on the other hand, is the type to save quietly for a long time, and then drop a really nice - - -

gift for Lena, although nothing too gaudy, as she knows Lena isn't much a fan of those. More likely she'd wait to hear of something Lena would really like to have, and then save up to get the Turbo Deluxe™ version of that thing.

33. I don't think they would react to long distance very well - especially after having to be apart from each other for so long, first when Lena escaped Ala Mhigo, not to return for years, and second when second when Lena went to the First at the cusp of them confessing to - - -

- - - each other. I think, in general, they also draw a lot of love and comfort from being in contact with each other, even from simple things of feeling them as they sit next to each other, and holding hands. They certainly would never separate if long distance had to happen,---

34. If an ex of R'nara's showed up, Lena's reaction would really depend on what terms they ended on. Bad terms, Lena would step aside and let R'nara handle it, but be at the ready if she needed backup or any emotional labor from her. - - -

- - - Good terms, she'd take joy in seeing R'nara see someone close to her again- But, on a bad day, quiet insecurities would creep at her, although she'd not show it, she'd talk to R'nara about it later in private - she'd never doubt R'nara, it's more about her self-confidence.

34 cont: For R'nara, if it were an ex of Lena on bad terms, she'd be like "I'll kill ya!" ; Good terms, she'd not feel any insecurity with Lena - to a point that it could almost be called smug. A self-assuredness, as well as a confidence in Lena, and the bond they share!

35. I'll describe one of their favorite dates! They tend to spend a lot of time together anyway, but got the idea they wanted to do something Nice for a Real Date - so, they planned a fancy night out in Limsa, firstly going to the Bismarck for dinner. - - -

- - - However, neither of them knew what the hell you're supposed to do at a fancy restaurant, so the night quickly devolved into a hilarious romp, with both trying to half-ironically impress the other by ordering various lavish wines and dishes, when clearly neither of them - -

knew what they were doing. They couldn't contain their laughter, and while it certainly turned some heads at the restaurant, Lena and R'nara had a hilarious time "playing fancy" with each other, and at each other's expense. And, after tipping heavily for the trouble, - - -

- - - they took their last bottle of wine with them, and found a quiet corner of the Upper Decks to sit together, take in the view, and slowly let their giggles run their course, until they both were sat quietly in each other's arms, watching the moon reflect off of the ocean.

36. Lena and R'nara comfort each other after a bad day differently. One example of Lena comforting R'nara is in the art at the top of this thread- after a skirmish between the Resistance and the Empire did not go well, Lena knew to start comforting R'nara by giving her space, - -

- - - waiting in the wings just long enough for R'nara to process on her own for a while. Then, when the time was right, Lena swoops in gently, not prodding, and saying very little, all the while offering gentle physical reassurance (in this case, healing, as well). - - -

In this manner, she gives R'nara everything she can, while creating space for R'nara to open up in time. In this case, R'nara would subtly, and thankfully, lean into Lena's reassurance. They would talk it out later, but that's what R'nara needed then.

36-2. As far as R'nara comforting Lena goes, she knows not to wait. As soon as she can, she'll run and give Lena a big hug, and continue offering as much physical comfort as she can- letting Lena rest her head on her lap, back rubs, sitting close, whatever Lena needs. - - -
