Ok it's time. Gonna see what Ethan Winters is up to, I'm sure he's fine. Gonna see the tall lady.
Not saying I'm disappointed, but I'm already like an hour into this and all the women I've seen have been regular height, if not short.
This game, like most video games, is about going into somebody's house and ruining all their vases (where they store their money).
The game takes place in one of those European towns we all know and love where nobody has cell phones because they're too busy leaving exploding barrels around town.
I don't know if there's a word for a phobia of bad stuff happening to your hands, but if you had that phobia, this would not be the game for you.
Interesting kind of circular influences here, because I'm getting some pretty heavy Bloodborne and specifically Cainhurst vibes from this game
The tall lady has done misandry to me.
I like the reintroduction of stuff like the store, but I can't deny that part of me is slightly concerned about the escalation of action in this vs. RE7 and what it means for future entries.
Essential Resident Evil comparison: Ethan can use computers no problem, get email from wife, while Leon is a profound himbo, computer illiterate.
Very unclear on where this thread is coming from, but I think it kind of inadvertently brings to mind one of my only real criticisms of both RE7 and RE8, which is that Ethan is basically a non-character. https://twitter.com/BriannaWu/status/1391387949313499136?s=20
He's a total cipher who sees unspeakable horrors and says stuff like "wow that was crazy" or "now THAT monster is GROSS." Almost no defining character traits, probably because they're thinking it's more immersive as a player proxy if he's kind of neutral.
