I am something of a rebel, all my boyhood heroes were people who wouldn't conform. Wouldn't behave as they were told to. Something I have carried on into adulthood. I have a new hero now, someone called Sasha, from @BTWsanctuary who rescued these beautiful pigs from hell

She fought for them, and the right to rescue them. She beat incredible odds and won over the British legal system who wanted to murder them because they were "not fit for human consumption"

Think about that phrase, what would ever make another animal "fit for human consumption"? Humans can thrive, and be healthier if we cease consuming dead animals.

Sasha rescued 53 pigs, but some of them were pregnant, the final number is 91, makes her even more of a hero for me. Some of the babies were even looked after by other mums. Spotty and her fosters.

They are all large grown pigs now, all beautiful, but some are still scared of humans, Sasha is working to help them understand, they matter, they have value, and they are loved.

We, that is hundreds of vegans worldwide, came together and built them a home. They love their new home and are very grateful.

Every single one of them is an individual, they share a home but each has their own personality, looks and preferences

Now they are safe, there is one more thing we can all do to make their happiness complete. They need to eat, and there are 91 of them to feed. So we have formed the #pigoneer2000 club, to do exactly that. We all come together again and give a very small amount every month.
