Is anyone else seeing ED volumes come roaring back, but with sicker and more medically complex patients resulting in higher admission rates and more critical care time? What is driving this?

Is it due to the rise in telemed and minute clinics doing dumb stuff like telling people with cardiogenic wheezing that they will be fixed with a Z-pak so they eventually come in with fulminant heart failure? I just saw this.

Are people still delaying care out of fear? Or due to loss of insurance coverage? I feel like this has to be contributing still, but the economy is recovering and the people I see in public seem to be back to business as usual.

Do we have a larger proportion of people in our society with new medical frailty after surviving COVID? Any other reasons?
