India will respond to every crisis, including a pandemic, by blaming it's religious minorities, especially Muslims.

During the first wave, Tabligh Jamaat was the scapegoat. As the second wave began gathering steam, horror stories started coming out of the Kumbh Mela. Something
had to be done to divert the focus toward Muslims. So, they started talking about Ramadan gatherings. India Today led the way in this respect.

Any gathering that violates physical distancing norms is dangerous at this point. It is up to the states to impose restrictions on
gatherings, religious or otherwise. Many common people (including myself) may take every precaution, including praying at home. Others won't.

However, the likes of India Today have been hell bent on making the issue Muslim-specific. This is evident from their coverage of the
pandemic since March, 2020. It seems very much like their reporters have been asked to communalise the issue by the editor.

These people are so shameless. Muslim lives are at stake in more ways than one during this pandemic. On the one hand, Muslims are every bit as vulnerable
to this pandemic, if not more thanks to the fact that they generally hold fewer resources and facing discrimination in health care. On the other, Muslims have been targeted with fake news during the pandemic.

Muslim volunteers distributing food during the lockdown have been
beaten up mercilessly over claims that they had infected the food with covid.

A Tabligh Jamaat even killed himself because of the humiliation in which the news media, Centre and Delhi government were all complicit.

More of the same has been happening during the second wave.
Here's the long list of anti-Muslim fake news they had been peddling during the first wave: https://twitter.com/Maq_one/status/1246106510901407746?s=19
