Oooh here's a cool theology controversy on this!!!!

THREAD on how Anti-Feminist Bias and Propaganda tarnished women of the Bible. https://twitter.com/playbroju/status/1390333266792693768
So in some interpretations of the Bible God only told Adam the tree was forbidden and when he was gifted with Eve as the man it was his job to lead her and guide her as in TELL HER THE RULES!
Adam didn't do his ONE JOB which is to take care of Eve and sat back and watched as the devil manipulated Eve to take a bite from the Forbidden fruit.
In this debated early depictions Adam was described to be STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO EVE before she bites the apple.
In these debates Eve was punished not for being manipulative but for being too naive. And Adam was punished for being a bystander when he was supposed to be the protector/leader for his wife.
I co-sign this interpretation bc men ain't shit and in very early paintings of the Original Sin Adam is drawn standing next to Eve as she's holds an unbitten apple. Later versions she's shown to be pushing a bitten. apple onto Adam. Manipulative framing anyone?
It is very confirmed the Church spread anti-Eve propaganda and refer to the "The Original Sin" as "The Original Sin of a woman" placing most blame on Eve. But if it was Adam's job to watch out for Eve... who actually sinned first?
Reminder: The Forbidden Fruit didn't change man's character per se but gave them knowledge of new ideas such as nudity. Adam was consciously being disobedient to God and negligent to Eve before he bit the apple. And it was both of their choices to take the first bite.
Also there's a long history of gospels being written to harm the character of women. Jezebel, Delilah and especially Mary Magdalene have conflicting versions od their gospel. No more to Mary who was described as Jesus favorite disciple in early versions and Peter jealous of her.
And before the Constantine mandated Christianity and before gospels were even written down it was Jesus' followers that told his story BUT some of them told different versions of the same tales. Particularly Peter who was nastiest to Mary Magdalene.
Mind you during Jesus' lifetime their was a culture shift where women were advocating that they can be spiritual leaders. Jesus was controversial BECAUSE he also had female followers who he allowed to preach. Some of which were at one time also considered his disciples.
During the Council of Nicea Constantine ordered to streamline these tales into a Bible and they picked which versions to make "canon" and threw out gospels they didn't like. Guess which ones were thrown out? EVERY SINGLE GOSPEL WRITTEN BY OR ABOUT WOMEN.
The biggest loss being Mary Magdalene's gospel. In the few lost pages that were found she showed a more personal side to Jesus and described her as his confidant being told truths no one else heard. Some believe Mary Magdalene was even Jesus' wife.
Imagine throwing out the wisdom of your Savior's wife on your religion just because you personally don't respect women. But she's not the only one lost pages so gospels that even to modern day would be described a very feminist works.
My favorite being the story where a woman who was adamant about her beliefs was thrown to the lion's den in the arena as punishment. Before the male lion could pounce her all the lionesses jumped in to protect her and intimidated the male lion until he submitted to them.
Another being how Jesus earth Dad Joseph was the one to lack faith and was cowardly and it was his mother Mary that was the strong one. She trusted God and guided them while pregnant through the dessert and wouldn't give into here husband's fears.
To this day the anti-feminist gospel edits are used as justification why women shouldn't be leaders in the church BECAUSE all gospels that empowered women were omitted! And many of their stories are forever lost to history. Male gaze has sabotaged women for thousands of years.
