I love my job! But I also know how capitalism works. I& #39;ve been through 4 layoffs at 2 companies. I also worked at some VERY toxic places. I& #39;ve learned my lesson about putting my emotional eggs in a business basket.

I am friends with some folks at my job and I deeply respect everyone I work with, but I refuse to put my whole life into a company. My job is to give them expertly-delivered, high-quality labor for which I am paid. During the time I don& #39;t spend with my coworkers, I make games... climb rocks... draw... dance... I& #39;m a whole-ass person y& #39;all. With friends who don& #39;t get W2& #39;s or 1099s from the same place I do.
