#WHUFC boss David Moyes spoke to the media today ahead of Sunday’s game against Everton.

Here is what he said:
On Declan Rice’s injury update:

“We’re hoping that Declan can be available. He’s been a big miss to us and we want him back as quickly as we can.” #WHUFC
On VAR hindering goal celebrations:

“You’re not wanting to celebrate because of decisions. It’s not as spontaneous as it once was. It’s a difficult thing, but it’s sad when players and managers can’t enjoy a goal.” #WHUFC
On his record against Carlo Ancelotti:

“I don’t listen to records because I’ve been told many that weren’t in my favour, but I have beaten them. I have great respect for Carlo and Everton. We know that we are both fighting for a spot in Europe.” #WHUFC
On the protests at Old Trafford:

“The genuine supporters of the clubs that joined the Super League felt that it was a wrong move. They voiced their opinion. Manchester United supporters wanted to say their part, because they were mad at the owners.” #WHUFC
On links with Ivan Toney:

“I’m linked with a lot of players, but I won’t talk about them. They’re not my players.” #WHUFC
On team news:

“We’re back training. We hope that we can get everyone back, but I don’t have a timescale.” #WHUFC
On Michail Antonio’s return to the team:

“He’s so important to us and has been since lockdown ended. We use him as a striker because of his goals. He’s back now and is in good spirits, so we hope that we can keep him that way.” #WHUFC
On Everton’s form:

“This is a side that knows the importance of winning the game. Everton will have a chance to get above us with a win, but we are looking above. Everton had good home form, but they are good away from home as well.” #WHUFC
On Everton under Ancelotti’s management:

“Carlo is a top manager and was a good appointment. They’ve always been a big club with big investment.”
#WHUFC
On the last few games:

“I wish that it would be easy, but I don’t see any easy games. Just look at how the games go - it is hard to call. Small things can change games. That said, we are confident.” #WHUFC
On how he has changed as a manager:

“I’m now more experienced and a bit wiser, and that comes with age. I don’t want to lose my energy and my drive for success because it pushes me on. Personally, the experience has been key.” #WHUFC
On guiding Everton to European football:

“We made the Champions League and had it comfortable. Duncan Ferguson scored the winner in a game against Manchester United, and that gave us hope there and then. We ended up finishing fourth.” #WHUFC
On rotating the squad:

“We have players that are back to fitness and give us options. Bowen and Benrahma are in good positions. We need to keep the options flexible, and I want to be able to change things.” #WHUFC
