That whole PTO thing going around, LMAO. I’m currently officially sitting at more vacation time than I can realistically take anytime soon/ever (and unofficially, even more). Like… 4+ weeks, and that’s WITH taking a week off in Feb and multiple single days since then.

My former boss, any time I would bring up taking a few days off, would lay the whole “but think about your teammates!” bullshit. And I, being a total sap, and terrified of getting fired by this gaslighting asshole, would suck it up.

(Like yes, that’s on me, but like… any time I brought this up to anyone else, it just seemed like company policy, and being relatively new, I didn’t want to rock the boat.)

(This was also the boss that didn’t think me or my team should be paid a living wage, all while getting paid 6 figures with bonuses, so really, this shouldn’t be surprising.)

My new boss when she saw what I was getting paid, and when she saw how many vacation hours I had accrued… holeeeee. Her reaction was kinda priceless and made up for so much garbage from her predecessor.

Since she took over, I’ve had two weeks off! And she’s pushing me to take at least another two before fall. AND… she made sure I got a raise, and made it retroactive to my former boss’s last day — to prove a point.
