So, the admin of CCSF, along with their lawyers and presumably the Board of Trustees, have proposed to lay off 163 full time faculty, and revealed a plan yesterday to hire us back as part timers with an 14% pay cut, 67% max workload and no more tenure. This is 100% ILLEGAL.
It explains why @AFT2121 has been hitting a brick wall in bargaining. Despite the Union‘s finding a $20M correction in the budget to narrow the deficit, and a plan to share the cuts to save everyone’s job, admin has refused any proposal that doesn’t have layoffs. NOW WE KNOW WHY.
We filed an Unfair Labor Practice yesterday due to #CCSF admin’s failure to seriously bargain. This is with 163 full time layoffs and hundreds of part time layoffs on the table. The teachers priorities are saving classes & jobs. Admin’s priority, breaking tenure. In this economy.
