"The Lord is my shepherd... I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" (Psalm 23:1,6).

"For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’ ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’” (Revelation 7:17).
We read the first words of Psalm 23, and they are very precious to us. We read the final words of Psalm 23, and they fill us with hope for the future. Our future is more than our future on this earth. It is our "forever" future.
This is the future that is described for us in Revelation 7:17. Here, we move from "the Lord is my shepherd" to the Lord will be our shepherd. Here, we catch a glimpse of the "forever" hope that the Lord has given to us. Here on earth, we have sadness, and we shed tears.
When we go to be with the Lord, there will be no more sadness, and there will be no more tears. This is very wonderful. It fills our hearts with joy. This joy comes to us from the Lord. It can only be given to us by him.
