Short
: @SandnesMarie and I wrote a Policy Brief summarizing findings from a recently concluded project. This was part of @PRIOUpdates initiative on #racialisation, (anti-) #racism and #discrimination (which includes this collection: https://blogs.prio.org/2020/10/collection-of-prio-research-on-racism-inequality-and-discrimination/) 1/

Our project was titled “Teaching African peace and conflict through European eyes?” and aimed to assess the #diversity and inclusiveness of university curricula in #Europe by appraising teaching on peace and conflict in #Africa across universities in
,
and
. 2/

In short, we found that the lack of #transparency on #university syllabi poses a significant barrier to any assessment of change in teaching practices over the last six years since the 2015 #Rhodesmustfall debate. 3/
While the study is based on a *very* small sample of universities and courses, our findings will hopefully provide valuable insights that can be used in future research on diversity in #academia. 4/
For more on the study, our methodology and our findings, read our brief at: https://www.prio.org/Publications/Publication/?x=12728. We welcome your comments and thoughts! 5/
Finally, this may be of interest to @LBenabdallah, especially in light of the work her and I are doing together and which we hope we can share with you all soon (no spoilers!) 6/6.
