Every parent wants what they believe is best for their kid, so it's a losing argument to suggest that parents should be content with options they see as "less than" for the benefit of the greater good. But what if we flip that? What if, in our current systems, we're all losing?
How do we go from, "my kid deserves the best," to "all kids deserve the best?"
What if, through the pursuit of individual advancement, we miss out on the collective good? What if the so-called "best" options we believe we have currently could actually be better if they were open to many, rather than restricted to few?
