@NASAJPL recently released the first navigation camera video from #Ingenuity flight four. The helicopter uses these images for navigation during flight.
It is also possible to create a map of terrain and reconstruct the exact flight path to make a nice animation of the flight: https://twitter.com/NASAJPL/status/1390401377378045955">https://twitter.com/NASAJPL/s...
The black and white area is the terrain that I reconstructed from the video, the colored area was created from the @USGS_AstroGeo terrain model and the RDC images that @NASAPersevere captured during landing. To the right you can see the rover at its current position.
I also uploaded this model to @Sketchfab, so you can view the animation in 3D or VR, and even directly here on Twitter! https://skfb.ly/onYwN ">https://skfb.ly/onYwN&quo...
The accuracy of Ingenuity& #39;s orientation and position are likely not very accurate, as there is only very little information about the instruments public.
Maybe @balaram can provide a bit more information on the technical specifications of Ingenuity?
Finally I big thanks to @rover_18 who helped me out for a few critical things like the rover model and the terrain backdrop.
He is making an awesome website that lets you explore and drive the Perseverance rover in a virtual Jezero crater!
