Today I ran into a former client from my first harm reduction job. They shared that in the last year since accessing a safe supply program they have been housed, got their GED, and they are currently applying to post secondary education.
And I couldn’t hold back my tears of joy

But even in this joyous moment I felt engulfed in anger and sadness for the THOUSANDS of people who have died, are dying and WILL DIE of preventable overdose.

NO ONE deserves to DIE from bad public policy and oppressive legislation.

As a nurse, a neighbour, and a human being I stand in solidarity with people who use drugs to DEMAND that our governments STOP KILLING PEOPLE. Legalize and regulate all drugs NOW!
