*sigh* so #Labour then...

Tackling this election as a popularity contest with a wildly popular Presidential candidate and pointing out Gov incompetence at a macro level during an unprecedentedly successful vaccine roll out which has micro impact on EVERYBODY is just mad...
When Labour succeeds, it comes at specific, tangible issues affecting actual people, with solutions and clear communication about the benefits. Ideas were always real attraction (to me) of Corbyn/McDonnell. The communication was lacking, but the ideas and solutions were there.
Still seems that Welsh Labour, Burnham in Manchester, Khan in London, and stronghold councils like Hackney, manage the ideas/solutions, and communicate well. *Those* Labour parties take positions specifically of need to audience and communities they exist in and are pitching to.
Showing what they can do cuts through at the ballot box, because they’re being clear about solutions to specific problems for their electorate. When he’s got such a better position with the media than previous leaders, seems unbelievable that Starmer team don’t get on this.
Why wouldn’t they take their pick of the Labour policies that proved so popular over the last decade, spin them as their own and speak to the variety of people they’re trying to attract, with local examples of benefits created by Labour parties in positions of power.
The Tories are doing just that, dining out on repackaged Labour policies and riding a wave of vaccine leadership. Why Labour don’t do similar under a banner of ‘better leadership and real solutions for actual fucken people’ (other slogans also available) is beyond me.
Show the local benefits for actual people with specific solutions to things that they need help with, and communicate that VISION on the doorstep and in The Telegraph, or Labour is irrelevant.
