A Friday reminder to stop putting people on pedestals & expecting them to be paragons of values. The higher a pedestal you build, the harder that person will fall when they remind you that they’re all too human & fallible.
This is especially true of folks you only get to encounter via content creation, streaming, tv, film, music, etc. no matter how many hours of content you watch them make, you’re not a friend, you don’t know them personally.
Lastly, especially with current events; watch out for abusive creators who manipulate their supporters in creating a cult of personality.

They will bleed you dry & cast you aside the moment you come from under their influence.

It’s not always fans & supporters to be wary of.
A note before anyone tries to “well, actually” me. This mini thread isn’t to say don’t be a good person. It’s asking y’all to not expect higher standards from a version of people you created without knowing who they are; outside of the small window you get into their life.
