Zinchenko's footballing career [A THREAD]
• Likes or rts appreciated, fellas •

He started his youth career at Youth Sporitve School Karpatiya of his native Radomyshl (with first coach Serhiy Boretskyi), FC Monolit Illichivsk and finally Shakhtar Donetsk.
At Shakhtar, he became the captain of the youth team. On 9 December 2013, he scored a goal in a 1–1 draw with Manchester United in the 2013–14 UEFA Youth League.
In 2014, he moved with his parents to Russia due to the war in Donbas. He had a career break until 12 Feb 2015 whilst spent his time training alone in Moscow and with Rubin Kazan (non-contract).
On 12 February 2015, he joined FC Ufa and made his league debut for the club on 20 March 2015 against FC Krasnodar. Three months later, he finally scored his first club goal against Rostov even though it was ended in a 2-1 defeat.
In 2015, he made his international career debut in a UEFA EURO 16 qualification match against Spain, and a year later, he scored his first international goal to help his team won 4-3 against Romania in a friendly match.
On 4 July 2016, was the start of a special something for Zinny. He signed for Manchester City under the 🐐 manager, Pep Guardiola for the first season for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £1.7 million. At that time, Dortmund were also monitoring him
He immediately made his club debut in a preseason friendly against Bayern which ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat.
To gain some experience, Zinchenko was loaned to PSV on 26 August, for the 2016–17 season. He made his debut a month later, as a substitute in a 1–1 draw against SC Heerenveen. He returned to Man City after his loan spells ended.
Zinchenko returned to City for 17/18 season, and made his debut in a 0–0 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the EFL Cup. He made his first ever Premier League appearance against Swansea, coming on as a subs.
On 18 Dec 2017, that day was the probably of the biggest moment for Zinny, a heroic show from him as he scored the winning penalty kick in a penalty shootout against Leicester to send City to the Carabao Cup semifinal!
Wolves showed an interest for Zinny but he refused and wanted to fight for his place at the club. Things just got better for him in 18/19 season. In a same week, he earned his first appearance of the season against Oxford Utd and first league start of the season against Brighton
It's undeniable that Delph and Mendy's injuries played a part in his suddenly arising gametime. He finally scored his first goal for the club in a 9-0 mauling against Burton Albion at the start of the year.
18/19 was the year of excellence for the young Ukrainian boy, he played a big part of the club domestic treble success
Unfortunately, 2019/20 season was not a season to remember for Zinchenko as he suffered a 5-6 weeks injury and not having a lot of game time compared to the previous season. His overall performance was also a bit rusty.
Lastly, this season, or should I say a remontada season for Zinny. He's played a very big part in this team current success. Regaining Pep's trust was crucial but putting masterclass performances was more special. He also became the youngest Ukraine captain in the history.
And that includes guiding team to a 3rd league titles in 4 years and those top-class performances against PSG in both legs along with Mahrez 🤩, sending the club to the first ever UCL final in their history.
