I just wanted to talk a little about these three dumbasses, and what a complete disaster trio they& #39;re displayed as during the CR days. We all know the shenanigans, and the shortcomings of them all, the untamed genius, the emotionally stunted heir, the lazy fop, https://twitter.com/hourlyjc/status/1390441453017608192">https://twitter.com/hourlyjc/...
and despite this you& #39;re looking at the people who achieved the greatest feats of their generation.

Campaign, and the other schemed and achieved a stunningly elaborate revenge plot against the most powerful man in the cultivational world.
And every single one of them did it in total isolation. Strong, silent, and alone.
What a foil these stupid little boys are meant to be for

the venerated triad. Three war heroes from the three most powerful sects, the hope of a generation.
Three men who couldn& #39;t change, couldn& #39;t bend, couldn& #39;t adapt themselves, and who ended in tragedy, ripped apart by their own sworn brotherhood.

And three boys who started in tragedy, shouldered the burdens left to them and did what needed doing, entirely by themselves.

Did any of them grow as people? Hell no, MDZS is most definitely not a story about personal growth; its a story about war and politics and power and
people doing what they thought needed to be done, and all the reasons that might be so:
personal codes (WWX), duty and responsibility (JC) and revenge (NHS).
Ironically those are motivating factors we see reflected in the 3zun too, (LXC, NMJ and JGY respectively) but with

Ironically those are motivating factors we see reflected in the 3zun too, (LXC, NMJ and JGY respectively) but with
very different outcomes, although only by the end of the book, who knows what would happen in the future.
Was WWX happy by the end of the book? Short term? Yes, Wangxian got the riding off into the sunset, but WWX is a very psychologically damaged man even then, trauma doesn& #39;t

just vanish for the happily ever after.
NHS? Revenge is sweet, but after devoting yourself to that kind of darkness for so many years, what can possibly come next in life?
JC? Destroyed by the core reveal and struggling with the knowledge that he& #39;s in WWX& #39;s shadow once again

JC? Destroyed by the core reveal and struggling with the knowledge that he& #39;s in WWX& #39;s shadow once again
even with his greatest deeds; his sacrifice to save WWX, and his rebuilding his sect. And probably feeling an immense guilt that /he/ is the reason WWX suffered as he did, because of the core loss. (It really isn& #39;t that simple in reality of course, WWX would likely have still
done what he did to save the Wens, even with a golden core at his disposal, and if someone wants to attack you they find an excuse to set people against you, we& #39;ve seen those tactics at work too many times in the real world to doubt their effectiveness. But guilt isn& #39;t always
logical, and we know how much JC loves WWX).
So thank you fandom for getting all these boys the love, therapy, happy ever afters and fix-its they all deserve, because canon just wasn& #39;t fair to any of them.
