This exchange went viral overnight on Reddit. I’ll take any opportunity to teach the world how to enjoy saunas properly. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙂" title="Leicht lächelndes Gesicht" aria-label="Emoji: Leicht lächelndes Gesicht"> https://www.reddit.com/r/dontyouknowwhoiam/comments/n67unm/sauna_advice/">https://www.reddit.com/r/dontyou...
Some Joe Rogan fans weren& #39;t happy. The thing is, not everything in life has to be some deep metaphor for everything else in life. I& #39;m sorry the science of heat therapy doesn& #39;t correlate with your philosophy or interpretation of masculinity but there& #39;s nothing I can do about that.
This idea that sauna must be painful to work has even killed people. There are high profile cases for example in sauna competitions and at new age wellness retreats. Overstressing and dehydrating the body are not good things. Sauna discomfort is not some worthy goal in itself.
Imagine if Joe Rogan had talked about embracing the discomfort of... going to the toilet, for example. "He& #39;s right," his fans might say. "You do need to challenge yourself in life and embrace discomfort and pain to succeed." No, you need to go see a doctor in that case.
Or perhaps a better example is telling a runner to embrace knee pain. "No pain, no gain." Again, no. Those knees need to recover and you need to improve your form to avoid that in future.

Similarly with the sauna, pain isn& #39;t how you get the most benefits.
