Whilst I am no Infantryman, (and have never claimed such), I do know my way around a firearm, and have some experience running one.

I'm almost 16 years into a career.

I've qualified, and disqualified, everything from individuals with their assigned weapons
To crews on their vehicles.

I have 30-ish months deployed across 3 deployments, and one year long stint in ROK.
I've gone black on ammo, I've triaged my battle buddies, I've aided in Evans, I've been evac'd.

I've been trained by GWOT OG's, and I've trained Juniors.
I've established SBF, Ive been the assault, I've called indirect, fixed wing, and rotary; I've stuck folk, I even poked a lung once.

I'm a pro at finding bombs, both the easy way, and the hard way.
The only thing I'm an expert in is being a Soldier, and in my Reconnaissance tasks and skills.

I can run a shoot house, I can teach you how to (probably) keep someone alive, I can teach you 3 different ways to CFF, I can teach you 3 different ways to call for aviation.
I can tell you all about Recon tasks.

I can teach you how to run 5 different radios in 4 different configs.

I can blow shit up with properly placed explosives.

But I am not an expert on any of these things.

There is someone better than me in all of these areas.
My point is, no matter how good you are, there is someone better.

Seek them out.

Learn from them.

And, in addition, train your subordinates.

That will make you better at what you do, as well as train your immediate, and future, replacement.
