In New York City right now, the number of new infections per day is still about 4x what it was last summer. The number of daily deaths in NY is about 10x what it was last summer. What is not being respected in these endless "Time to take your masks off!" arguments is this: 579,000 Americans have died. We are only beginning to process a staggering national trauma, made infinitely worse by those who didn't take it seriously enough. >
People have many reasons for masking outside, none of which are the business of those who wish they wouldn't. "You're making it hard for other people to feel comfortable"? No. People don't change at the pace of headlines or guidelines. Leave. It. Alone.
