Something that still doesn't add up for me ...

When Bobby Abreu was released, it was because Mike Trout was taking his place. If Jo Adell and Brandon Marsh aren't yet considered ready, I don't understand the need to release Albert Pujols right now.

At this moment, with Jared Walsh at 1B and not in the OF, Jon Jay and Juan Lagares are the Angels' right fielders. So basically, Pujols was let go at the expense of Lagares and Jay (minor league invites on the fringes of the 40-man roster), not Ohtani and Walsh.

There's more here, I think. At the very least, it's not necessarily as simple as it has been portrayed. Just my thought.
