Literally 4000+ replies to that tweet said something akin to “if you can’t be easily covered, your managers have failed.” That is monumentally stupid. As an employee, you should be proud—not upset—that you can’t be easily replaced or lost.
Again, if you’re the pizza delivery guy, I am not tweeting to you or for you. If you cannot replace the delivery guy when he wants a week off, that would be comically inept management.
But if you’re a professional, and you go to your boss and say “hey I’d like to take a week off in June” and she says “oh you don’t need to let me know or plan; you can take off whenever,” that doesn’t mean you have a great manager. It means you have no job security.
