I'm watching a video about Maasai Marriage which basically a practice of polygamy there.

And the Maasai woman said that they are okay with having co-wives.

"Whatever you were raised with, that's what becomes your truth."

It's such a mind blowing sentence. Because, yes it is.
I talked about Vice Indonesia's polygamy video yesterday, as I vocalized my opinion about it.

I personally disagree with the idea of polygamy. And I even questioned about why would any women in this world wants to be someone's second, third, or maybe fourth?
But then after I watch this video where this beautiful Maasai woman talked about how she likes having her co-wives and okay with the idea of her husband having more than one wife,

then realized,

Maybe it's all about perspectives. About what do you believe as the wrong or right
Still coming back to the, "Whatever you were raised with, that's what becomes your truth" sentence.

That specific sentence opens up a new perspective for me.

The hardest perspective to change is the cultural.
How your culture views something as wrong or right. Which maybe different on how the nowadays society views things.

Even if it's really different, it's hard to change it completely.

It takes a lot of process, time, and effort to really change a cultural perspective.
I still personally disagree with the polygamy practices, but I think I'd change the way I see someone who agrees with it.

I think I'd respect them more instead of giving a confused yet judgemental look to them
It's good to have your own perspective and opinions of something.

But remember that other people has the right to have their own opinions and perspectives too.
Thissss.

This actually applies to other things, not only about polygamy.
I still personally think it is not right to be in the polygamy practices, but well......

Basically this video changes my way of reacting on the people who might have different or maybe opposite opinions and perspectives from me.
