Rachael's work on church-related issues is a huge financial liability for us. She has foregone literally hundreds of thousands of dollars of fees to help the SBC, PCA, and countless other smaller organizations and individuals. https://twitter.com/Eric_Conn/status/1390440360749322241
Our income is almost entirely derived from secular speaking engagements and fees. That income allows her to advocate for free in the church space. If not for money, then why? Because she is tired of being the one picking up the broken women and children who contact to her weekly.
She's tired of staying up until 2 o'clock in the morning helping Christian women in abusive situations figure out the logistics of escaping & not getting killed. She's tired of hearing all the stories no one dares to utter in their churches because they don't feel safe.
Believe me when I say she'd love to shut up about the church. But until it's not just her and a few other people speaking for victims of abuse, she'll keep at it, internet trolls notwithstanding.
