Violent mindset of Bengal, Kerala.
1. In 1990s in Kerala I once saw the strangest sight. At around 10am, hundreds of students rushed out of a local school and poured into the main road. Shouting Marxist slogans these 9-16 year olds blocked traffic and attacked buses, shops, cars.
2. The sight of vocal and seemingly angry kids doing narebaazi and throwing public life out of kilter made me think this was some sort of protest directed at the school principal or some abusive teacher.
3. But this wasn't a protest. My uncle, who worked in that school, told me these children were celebrating a @CPIMKerala victory in the campus elections.
4. He said: "Campus violence is very common here in Kerala. Look at how they have stopped all the traffic and are putting ordinary people to hardship. See the buses damaged. You won't see this in your Delhi. Campus atmosphere is very different here. It's only focused on politics"
5. Such post poll violence is endemic in Kerala and Bengal. What Mamata Banerjee's goons are doing in Bengal is that they have ramped up the scale of the violence. This is because of the anger at BJP winning so many seats. Mere presence of opposition is intolerable to the left.
6. Communist mentality is basically genocidal. This virus has entered the mindset of the people of Bengal and Kerala.
7. Given half a chance, Marxists in India will do to Hindus what Pol Pot did in Cambodia - he and his communists with backing of China and US killed 25% of the population of Cambodia. CPM may have died a natural death in Bengal but its legacy of violence continues.
