Alright. For those concerned about the Long March 5B Rocket plummeting uncontrolled to the Earth: A thread.
Only 10%-40% of mass will reach the ground, with the remaining mass being burnt upon re-entry, so there won't be 20 tons of material spewed onto the Earth. The chances are extremely low for anyone being hurt, but chances aren't guaranteed.
The US's space program has had uncontrolled re-entries before, so we can't entirely blame China without looking at our own faults. Yet, US re-entries occurred during the 1970s... It's 2021...
It is extremely irresponsible to not engineer these modular components to have secondary propulsion and guidance to an ocean, something the US practices to this day. Considering the economic might of China and today's technological ability...
China needs to be held accountable for their ethical approach to managing space flight and space debris. Especially since solutions exist and are proven to work.
