Why a DM and CB is crucial to be bought in summer. A thread

Hopefully people will see that performance against Roma yesterday and realize why a new DM and CB should be the priority in the summer

Firstly goals hasnt been our issue at all this season. We have scored 64 in the pl alone which is the 2nd highest in the entire league and now that cavani is likely to sign a new contract a new St would be a complete waste of time especially with martial coming back!

The attack starts from the back and we simply do not move the ball quick enough for the attackers and pass side to side a numerous amount of times in games with Mcfred or matic.

Look at city for example. They have 2 of the best cdm's itw in Rodri and Fernandinho which is why they're so good at moving the ball quick and creating chance after chance for the attackers especially because players such as KDB and gundagan receive the ball alot.

In United's case however our attackers (including Bruno) are often starved of the ball alot of the game and we rely on fine margins and individual brilliance a fair amount of games as we simply can't play expansive football with mcfred and maguire and Lindelof at the back.

Roma alone is a prime example of how we always get dominated in the midfield and always concede so many chances whether it be mcfred (2 players doing a one player job) or matic (who isnt fast enough to play at the highest level)

If we could get Bruno on the ball more, keep it tight at the back with a solid and fast CB and move the ball quicker we could seriously challenge for the pl and ucl!!!

Personally for me the 2 players I would go for is Pau torres (approaching his prime but still has years to improve) and Rice (young, a strong mentality and an all round excellent player) although any1 would do as they can't be much worse than what we already got!!!

Finally looking at where we are in the league and europa need to give ole some credit in this thread as he's doing a phenomenal job atm!
