If there’s going to be a debate about changing the makeup of the McLean County Board, we’re gonna have to start right there.

Despite what the @McLean_CFB, rural residents or Republicans on the board claim, this is *not* about a need to increase rural representation.
For some it *is* about *decreasing* representation from #BloNo, and about holding on to power & privilege that have been slipping away over the past decade.

For some, it is about a desire to return to the Old White Man’s Club that met on a weekday morning.
I heard from some of those self-described Angry Old White Men after I spoke during public comment urging the board to move their meeting time. And they told me as they huddled around me I’d be an Angry Old White Man one day too.

I’m not kidding. Those were their words.
In the last few election cycles, Old White Men have lost to younger women & Republicans have lost to Dems in districts they never thought they’d lose — or even have to compete in.

They’ve seen their power & control slipping away. And this is a desperate attempt to hold on to it.
I’m thankful for @votebarnett but we need more to stand up, speak up and do the right thing.

Folks need to contact their county board reps and let them know we expect them to make the right decision, not the Republican decision.
During the campaign, “Coach Mac” said “I believe in good governance & finding common ground ... good local government should be not about politics, but about good legislation to make the best decisions to serve all of the residents of this county.”

Time to prove it, Coach.
