My very first day in Thailand. I dropped my suitcase at the hotel and walked from Sukhumwit 15 to Lumpini Park. For a guy that had only ever holidayed in Spain, Greece and those kind of places, those first hours just blew my mind.

I have to include my first evening in Pattaya in 1990 (The golden days?) Sitting at an open-air bar on Soi Diamond with 4 lads from Blackpool, watching the Marine Bar area come to life. I was 26 years old. It felt like the most incredible place on earth.

Taking my wife to England for the first time and staying in two places I loved as a kid growing up - Cornwall and The Lake District. We've travelled to many places in the interim years but that holiday still holds a special place.
