I worked in HR for 12 years and can easily say this is bullshit. Take the PTO, without a second thought, no matter what your reason is.

Your company does not give a F about you and it& #39;s their responsibility to have this kind of coverage. https://twitter.com/privilegelog/status/1390342231056396292">https://twitter.com/privilege...
Don& #39;t be an asshole and follow the protocol for requesting off...but take the PTO you& #39;ve *earned*.

My last HR job I had I did payroll and at the end of the fiscal year I had employees turn in SO MUCH PTO. And were proud of it. I would have like -2 hours every year.
But also I& #39;ve never had a job where PTO and sick time was separate which is super common in companies.

Ask a disabled person how much PTO they use.
At my very first full time HR job I asked to *ahem* work from home after my mastectomy while I recovered. They said no, returned to work Monday after my surgery (which was a Thurs) because I needed to keep insurance.

I bet they& #39;re working from home now.
Maxed out my PTO that year for chemo. And every year since when I worked full time I maxed it out too because no company has ever given a F.
Your job doesn& #39;t give a F about you. Take the PTO.
