Campus Recruiting is more akin to talent sourcing and sales than it is to more traditional recruiting efforts. Thus, a Campus Recruiter needs to be able to research (cost) effectively.

Here are some ways to find talent (or anything online, really) without spending $$$
1. Answer this question: Where do the people I’m looking for hang out (online)?

If you’re thinking about Student Clubs, Meetups, LinkedIn, and other similar community-based sites, you’re on the right track.

Google is your friend, but don’t use it how you’re using it now...
2. Start broad and then crystallize.
Start with a basic Google Search (literally copy & paste this into Google):

student "clubs|organizations|associations"

What themes are you seeing? How can you refine this to get closer to students you’re looking for?

Let’s get specific:
HBCU example:

student "clubs|organizations|associations" "morgan state|stillman|morehouse"

Now you can crystallize further by using specific Officer Titles in clubs to find the talent you’re looking for!

But don’t stop here!
Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to talent sourcing for Campus Recruiting.
