Kids need to know life’s not all about them and their happiness though, making them feel like it is is creating a utopian mentality for them which will most probably lead to an entitlement mentality which I believe we’ve all agreed is not a good state. https://twitter.com/OgbeniDipo/status/1390359503082766340
They need to know that things can come up, things that could be beyond your control and far more important than celebrating one day of their life. I don’t think we’d be doing much good to kids making them feel like the world revolves around them and on some days nothing else ...
should matter but them because when real life hits and the day becomes not as special as they were made to believe, you’d have yourself as a parent to blame. Yes it’d be awesome if you can create a system to remember and celebrate such days in their life but you ...
shouldn’t beat yourself up as a parent if you forgot for whatever reason or couldn’t celebrate as you’d wished to. Make the effort though.
